- FOR THE MOMENTS TOO PRECIOUS TO FORGET -

Tips for properly storing photographs

1) Keep photographs, negatives and albums away from direct sunlight. Photographs will fade if they are exposed to light and heat for long periods of time.

2) Avoid excessive handling of your photographs. Because skin has natural oils which may damage your photographs, it is best to keep them covered with "photo safe" plastic which does not contain chemicals such as PVC.

3) Dust and crushing can seriously damage your photographs if they are left lying on a table. The dust accumulates on the surface of the photos and becomes abrasive when handling. Avoid storing too many photos in one album or photo-box as they may become crushed.

4) Glues and sticky-type tape are bad for your photos. Avoid gluing or taping your photos to surfaces, as the glue ages it becomes "tacky" and may damage your photographs. Take care even when using "photo safe" glues because over wetting can penetrate to the photo side.

5) Inks and pencil can react with photo paper as well as indenting the surface. It is best to record details separately or use specially designed photo safe "blue" pencils. Some albums provide spaces next to the photos to record details and memories.

Memories, by jennifer uses only "Photo-Safe" materials.
We only use albums which are completely PVC free.
